Journal Entry

It's going to be a gorgeous day - the sky outside Mom's livingroom window is blue with light wisps of cloud. Mom is just starting to wake up; she's coughing a little. Hopefully she'll get to rest a little longer.
Yesterday Bill, Pattie and the kids came to visit. Mom mentioned later that Cody talked a lot and how uncharacteristic that was - he's normally quiet like Billy. She really enjoyed spending time with them. Tyler spent the afternoon with Cameron and Olivia. He was very sad when it was time to go home.
We cleaned Paul's and Suzy's old bedroom and bathroom for Mom and got most of the furniture moved over that she'll use during her stay. Still some cleaning needed in the bathroom, but that will happen today or tomorrow. Bill measured the window of the bedroom for a sliding door - recommended a 36" entry door instead. Olivia and Cameron had fun playing with the controls of the hospital bed that Paul picked up for Mom this morning.
Mom talked a little about faith and fear yesterday. Most of the time she has faith that God is with her and that, healed or not, she will have peace. But when she hears news about her condition she gets scared. We talked about fear as a normal reaction to difficult news, and that it's up to us to choose to stay in fear or to choose faith. She is taking all of this so amazingly well. It's her nature to underestimate herself.
I just finished making us a pot of coffee and filled her water bottles for the day. We have an hour before we need to leave for church.
